Eat on the wild side

Evening meals are availiable on Tuesdays, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings but please give me a couple of days notice minimum.

Dominique has trained in some of the best proffesional kitchens in this country under Michelin starred chefs such as the Roux brothers and Aiden Byrne. She was head pastry chef at the Houses of Parliament for 13 years and also at Sir Terence Conrans flagship restaurant, Le Pont de la Tour. She continues to do private chef work and consultancy to restaurants, individuals and high end brands such as ESSE stoves and range cookers.

She now uses her skills and imagination to offer her guests dishes that include as much wild, seasonal, local and sustainable produce as possible with an aim to have zero waste. Andrew is a keen marksman and a local game keeper and provides Dalehouse with a steady supply of venison, rabbit, wild duck and pigeon. Along with foraged herbs, leaves and berries and locally grown vegetables you will be sure of a fantastic meal be it breakfast, afternoon tea or dinner. We are more than happy to cook for vegetarians and vegans too!

We are pleased to offer our guests a 3 or 4 course evening meal focusing of the best available local ingredients. We want the freedom to decide what to cook on the day and for this reason have done away with the menu. All we ask is that you tell us that you wish to dine and whether you have any dietary requirements.

£45 for 3 courses or £55 with an additional course of cheeses from the Courtyard dairy and my award winning Eccles cakes

Please note we are not licensed but you are welcome to bring your own wine or beer and we can chill it if appropriate.

Breakfast

Choose from a selection of cereals, porridge or home made granola, fresh fruit and yoghurt

Full Lancashire cooked breakfast using locally sourced bacon and sausages and eggs from the chickens. I offer a excellent vegetarian or vegan cooked breakfast and also specials such as homemade “baked beans” with poached eggs and feta cheese, or bowland pancakes with banana and syrup or even, poached eggs and avocado on toasted sour dough.

Toast and home made preserves (award winning marmalade!)

Tea, fresh coffee and fresh fruit juice. Our coffee is now coming from an independant importer and roaster in Carnforth and supports small freetrade growers.

We are happy to cater for dietary requirements given advance notice.

Sandwiches of your choice, a chocolate biscuit bar, a piece of fruit, crisps and a soft drink. We can fill your thermos free of charge with tea, coffee or hot chocolate.
