About Dale House Camping Barn

Firstly – What is a Camping Barn? and what to expect.

A Camping Barn is also known as a “stone tent” you will need to bring everything you need as if you were going to spend the night in a tent (but without the tent!). However a Dale House Camping Barn we can offer you a few more creature comforts. You can be guaranteed a very memorable stay in an area that is not only unique but absolutely breath-taking.

A bit about us
Dale House camping barn is a small conservation-minded family business run by Cheryl and Chris in a fantastically remote location within the stunning Forest of Bowland, Lancashire, an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB). We are both passionate about the area and location in which we live and encourage our guests to thoroughly enjoy and appreciate there time here.

A bit about the barn
TextistThe barn has recently been converted and offers simple and practical accommodation for group occupancy – a maximum of 14. Like most camping barns you have to provide your own roll mats / mattresses or camp beds. We have sympathetically converted it in order to keep the rustic and enchanting feel a 300 year old barn creates. On entering you will see the original flagged floors, beams and exposed stone walls, and a huge log burner. We have a fitted kitchen with hob, fridge, toaster, microwave and a freezer if needed. We provide all cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery.

TextistThere are two showers with continuous hot water (we do not meter hot water and electricity) and two toilets one with disabled access. Heating is a log burner situated in the middle of the open plan barn. There are two sleeping areas on two mezzanine floors with large windows looking out on the stunning scenery. In the summer you will enjoy soaking up the warm sun in our south facing garden overlooking the wild meadow (S.S.S.I)

The barn which is attached to the farmhouse overlooks the picturesque scenery of Stocks Reservoir and Gisburn Forest – the largest body of water in Bowland and the largest forest in Lancashire.
